Sam Hartis is an artist from Chester, South Carolina. Using chainsaws, he creates original sculptures out of mostly eastern red cedar, yellow pine, and poplar.

Sam began drawing during childhood and by high school was working in water colors, earning recognition by winning local art awards.

Sam discovered chainsaw carving in 2011, and has been creating indoor and outdoor statuary ever since. His studio is an outdoor workshop nestled in a cedar woods between Revolutionary War battlefields.

Sam showcases his work at live carving events and demonstrations from Georgia to Pennsylvania. His work is available for purchase at select locations throughout the Carolinas.
